A Fast, Local Solution for your Hearing Aid Repair

The industry often relies on a “send-off” model for deep-level electronic repairs, meaning your device is shipped to the manufacturer’s repair facility. We prioritise an in-house fix to solve the most common issues before having to send your device off for repair.

Maintenance & Immediate Fixes

Before a potential major repair, we systematically troubleshoot your device. Many persistent faults are reversible through specialised maintenance.

Immediate Repairs: Simple issues like battery checks, tubing replacement (for cracked or hardened tubing), dome swaps, and clearing minor wax blockages are often resolved at our clinic.

Feedback and Fit: Persistent acoustic feedback (whistling) is often caused by an ill-fitting dome/mold or severe wax build-up. We can adjust the digital settings of the device or check the fit of the molds to resolve a whistling hearing aid.

Manufacturer Send-Off for Repair

If the issue persists after clinical maintenance (e.g., sound remains distorted or absent, or chronic intermittence continues), or if physical damage is visible, we handle the entire logistics of sending your device to the manufacturer for repair.

Complex Internal Faults: Failures categorised as inevitable wear and tear, such as internal circuit board issues, microphone degradation, or rapid battery drain due to an amplifier defect, typically require factory repair.

Loaner Devices: Recognising the impact of being without your hearing aids, we often mitigate the typical 5-10 business day turnaround time by providing loaner devices

Warranty Assessment and Non-Warranty Repairs

We provide categorisation of faults to accurately assess your warranty status and ensure you are only paying when necessary.

Know Your Coverage:

New hearing aids typically come with a Manufacturer’s Warranty lasting three years.

We can help determine if your issue—such as a component degradation leading to distorted sound—is a manufacturing defect likely covered by the warranty.

Crucial Warranty Exclusions:

It is essential to understand that manufacturer warranties are often expressly voided by conditions indicating user fault:

1. Misuse and Neglect: This includes damage resulting from accidents, such as water submersion (swimming/showering).

2. Chemical Contamination: Exposure to aerosols like hairspray or perfumes.

3. Corrosion from Batteries: Failure stemming from neglected, deeply discharged Zinc-Air Batteries (ZABs) left in the device, which can leak corrosive Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) and destroy internal contacts.

If your device is outside the warranty period or the damage is determined to be non-warranty (Category B: Misuse/Negligence), we can still help you figure out the next steps and what to expect.

Important Warning: Do not attempt DIY repair for complex component failure. Hearing aids use highly sensitive, proprietary micro-electronics, and unauthorised manipulation will likely cause further damage and invariably void any residual manufacturer warranty.
